What inspired you to start your business? Why did you choose Oakland?
I was inspired by Oakland itself. It has this scrappy, tenacious soul that’s unlike anywhere else.

What inspires you to go to work everyday?
The people, I love the serendipity in meeting all the people who walk through Viscera’s doors.

What do you love most about community in Oakland?
Oakland’s community chooses collaboration over competition which builds an authentic and kind community.

What’s your favorite nightlife/cultural destination in downtown Oakland? Why?
I love the New Parkway, it’s a really creative space where you can go to see a movie, improv show, or event.
