Artist Name
Photography to me is visual history. I was gifted this life and entrusted to document the life experiences my short time here brings. Growing up my dad always told me, “Son, always be creating.” And I’ve taken that approach towards living, photography and art. My style is a fusion of the rawness and spontaneity of street photography, the angles and composition of cinematography, and the intention and attention to detail of studio photography. I’m drawn to the natural interaction between people– eyes being the gateway to the soul.
I’m a California native and an Oakland resident. I’m a multi-racial man: Black, Latino & White; I’m a husband; a father; a grandfather; and brother. I’ve travelled all over the world, my camera at my side, photographing as a tourist with the curiosity of a child. I’m also an avid cyclist, having ridden more than 100,000 miles since 1991.
Laughter is my healing medicine.
I live by a simple axiom, “If you’re bored, you’re boring.”
I am a visual storyteller; a lover of photography. It doesn’t matter what type: film, digital, portrait, product, advertising, fashion, street, cinema; I love them all and have spent years mastering my craft. As a photographer, my goal is to understand my clients’ vision and deliver that, “This is exactly what I wanted!” moment. As an artist, my goal is to deepen my connection with each subject and capture their most authentic self.
