Since he first picked up an instrument at age 9, Brother Khalil’s mission has always been the same: to honor and celebrate the many branches of Great Black Music via the roots and trunk of the tree, Blues and Jazz. Today, he continues that journey as a recording artist and producer for LifeForce Jazz Records and as a board member of The JaZzLine INSTITUTE. Khalil Abdullah has shared the stage and recorded with many notable greats in jazz, hip hop, r&b and world music. He currently leads his own ensemble, performs along side some of the Bay Area’s best musicians, and continues his work as a music educator.
