Introducing The Lot
The team at Oakland Central has opened the “gates” to Oakland’s newest performance and special event venue, The Lot. Located in the heart of Downtown Oakland at the corner of 12th St. and Broadway (1100 Broadway), the site is now ready and available to be activated with live concerts, food trucks, vendor fairs and special events. The temporary venue provides a welcoming place to celebrate Oakland, support local businesses, empower communities, and provides a visible platform to acknowledge and showcase some of our city’s most exciting musical talent. Off the Grid Markets
Off the Grid Markets, California’s largest network of street food markets, is launching a new 3 day a week lunch location in downtown Oakland “The Lot” at 1100 Broadway. The 11-2pm lunch option will feature a rotating line up of 3 mobile food vendors daily. Featuring diverse dining options, seating, and music in the heart of Downtown Oakland. This new lunch option is a partnership between Off the Grid Markets, Oakland Central and The Downtown Oakland Association. Book the Lot
“The Lot” is Oakland’s newest urban space available for a variety of public events. The space is supported by the Downtown Oakland Association to further the City’s mission of creating and activating dynamic public spaces for the enjoyment of those working or residing in one of the most up and coming walkable neighborhoods in the Bay Area. “The Lot” will feature movable chairs and café tables, permanent sun shade/umbrellas, a drought tolerant garden, and rotating local art installations to highlight our local culture. This urban oasis is opening its doors to the public for the first time ever and is available for cultural, promotional, commercial activities and film/photo shoots.
- 12,000 square foot lot adjacent to City Center, 4 Blocks from the Oakland Museum of California
- High visibility location with approximately 20,000 people walking by daily
- A mere 15 feet from Public Transit – BART, AC Transit and the Free B Shuttle
- Over 30 public events are already scheduled for this summer including movie nights, afternoon concert series and a new food truck pod presented by Off the Grid
To determine whether your proposed event is appropriate for “The Lot”, and to determine an appropriate site fee, we ask that you submit the booking form here. Please provide as much information as possible and answer all questions to the best of your ability. Elaborate whenever possible to provide a full and clear description of your proposed event.
Submission Time: For large-scale events, it is recommended that you submit your proposal two to four months prior to your preferred event date(s). Proposals for other events may be considered with a lead time of no less than 6 weeks.

Fully completed proposals are reviewed within one or two weeks after submission; we cannot provide an estimated fee for your event without a complete proposal. Additionally, an on-site walkthrough with The Lot’s Events Department may only be scheduled once all materials are submitted and questions have been answered. The original proposal may require minor revision due to time and space restrictions, lot rules or logistical complications.
